Hi everyone,

I want to make my sons 3rd birthday cake. However, i have another whinging newborn baby, and dont have time to bake a cake. My son loves the woolworths mudcake. So my question is, will it be possible that i stack two $5 woolworths mudcakes and cover them with satin ice fondant? Is there anything i need to do to the cakes before covering it with fondant? Would appreciate any tips.

thanks,

Are the cakes iced?  I'm not familiar with that product.  If they are iced you would stack and smooth them out and chill the before putting the fondant on.  Whatever is under the fondant will show texturewise on the outside.  If they are not iced you will need to ice them.  Good luck!
