I want to practice using royal icing for sugar cookies, but I don't want to make a large batch of icing. Is there a
smaller recipe for icing at least 1 doz cookies. If I make a full batch can the icing be frozen? Help.

Sure you can cut the recipe. I have made it with as little as 1/4 cup of sugar and meringue powder. I don't remember the exact recipe as it's been several years since I've made royal but just cut each ingredient in 1/2 or even in 4ths.
I also have cut the recipe to 1/4 - works fine.
