I'm doing a 3 tier (4" per tier) cake for my son's birthday.  I decided today that since the bottom tier is 10" square, that is more than enough cake for everyone, so I want to do RKT for the top two tiers.  Then I thought...hmmm....it would make it so much easier if I could make the RKT tiers NOW and go ahead and put the fondant on them.  Then I could decorate them, as well, as we started making the figures today (Angry Birds).

The party is on Easter, is there any reason I couldn't make the RKT tiers now?  Would the fondant last if I covered them now, as well?  The RKT tiers are purely for decoration and will not be eaten.

Why don't you use just foam dummies, you can decorate them now and they won't go off!

I don't have any, need them by Thursday, Amazon doesn't have squares for Prime shipping, and RKT is much cheaper LOL.  I finally put my brain back on and searched CC with Google's site search, and it seems like premaking them won't be an issue.
