Has anyone tried adding regular or flavored coffee creamer to your buttercream? If so, how did it work for you?  I'm thinking it would give it a grainy texture? Would like input before trying it. Thank you.

No I haven't. I hate the taste in coffee already, why would I add it to buttercream?

did you see that in a recipe? What type of buttercream are you trying to make? Or why are you thinking about adding it?

Use half and half or whipping cream instead of milk, and leave out the coffee creamer, powdered or not.

Well, yesterday while getting my morning coffee I just happened to think what buttercream frosting would taste like with Coffee MAte in it.  Maybe my brain hadn't woke up yet! Hehehe  Just wondering about it.  Thanks for your input though.

A lot of people do put flavored coffee creamer into icing and call it "gourmet." That's not gourmet. Maybe closer to gourmand...

Sugarshack's buttercream is very popular and uses powdered coffee creamer (dissolved in hot water) as the necessary liquid.  I have tried it before and think it's really good.   Here's the recipe:
