Hi all.  How do you attach a plastic beaded necklace to your cakes?  My client wants a tiny beaded necklace on her daughter's cake that is similar to those they pass out at Mardi Gras, but with very tiny beads.  She hasn't decided on a fondant or buttercream cover on her cake, so I would need to know how for both.  I thought about using the gum paste glue, but not sure if it will stick well enough.  Thanks in advance!!

Piping gel will work for either.  It is thicker than the gum paste glue and will give a better hold quicker.  I use piping gel for both buttercream and fondant.  I don't like it to show so I will put it in a parchment bag with a small hole.

Thanks, TheresaCarol.  I thought of piping gel, but wasn't sure if it would hold.  :)
