Hi bakers and cake lovers,
Just wondering if anyone knows the trick. I can bake moist and fluffy sponges in different flavours but I always have to bake two or three layers separately to create a tall looking cake. Take a look at the link below for example

This cake is made by cutting a single round sponge. How do you bake a tall sponge? I tried doubling the amount in the tin but the result was catastrophic! the sponge was dense and the cake started to burn while the center was not baked. With chiffon cake recipes, yes it is possible to bake tall sponges but I have never been able to do a tall one with red velvet sponge for example.
Thank you in advance for your tips :)
