Hi!  I need to make a dome cake, a fairly large with at least an 8 to 9 in diameter.  I read to use a stainless steel bowl but I also read that there are cake pans out there that could do the job.  I checked Wilton but I could only find a 6 in. for the biggest.  Anyone else have any other ideas?  Have you ever used a stainless steel bowl?  How did it turn out?

I have a soccer ball pan that is 8" and it is from Wilton.  The 6" is the mini version.  I have baked in a stainless steel bowl also and it does work.  You can also use a glass bowl.

Great!  Thank you!!!!  I will try the bowl first, I have one of those and if it works just fine then no need to fix what isn't broken.

Hi I usually use a glass bowl for a dome cake but remember to grease and flour it well and put a round of greaseproof in the bottom of the bowl so that it does not stick.
