AI'm making a 3 layer ice cream cake for my husband's birthday this Friday. 2layers of chocolate cake with the middle layer being a strawberry Cheesecake ice cream. I want a very light icing, so I have opted for a whipped cream icing. My question is, will the whipped cream hold up frozen? And will it pipe well? I will only be doing simple borders & marbeling on top. The sides will be slightly covered in left over crushed oreos. My whipped piping always has a tendency to not hold its shape, but I assume since it will be frozen, it will hold better. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Yes, the whipped cream holds up well when frozen.  Just smooth the cake with the whipped cream and stick it in the freezer.  I can't remember if I let the frosted cake freeze before I piped the border (I think I did), but the border holds up great because it stays frozen.
