Hi everyone! Sorry I got a late start! My oldest brother came by with his wife to bring our son a custom painted electric guitar. It was a gift for getting his black belt. My brother does this amazing work and surprised our son with the guitar, amp and case. Simply amazing. Anyways...soon my mom was here and my niece (my brothers daughter) and her two kids and our house was bursting!

Hope everyone had a wonderful week!

love,

Cat

ACat - what a lovely surprise for your son. Here's my entry. I now know exactly how not to make a peppa pig cake. It was a bit of a disaster but I'm sure my daughter won't mind.

That's such a cute peppa pig cake @louglou! All cake? RKT head?

Ya, bit slow tonight hey.. I wonder where all our baker friends are.

My son's is the multicolored one...the fourth one shown. It's really subtle until it hits the light and then it's just amazing!

Now that I'm caking just for family I don't have anything till mid February. Just working on my photography till then....well, and sifting through our home making the decisions on what gets moved with us in July and what is going to find a new home.

AI don't have a cake yet, but I'm pretty excited about my first gumpaste ranunculus and had to share!

You did a great job!  I haven't tried ranunculus yet.  I'm going to be working on Turkish tulips really soon because I need to make them for my son's wedding cake in June.

AThank you! I just googled Turkish Tulips, I don't think I've ever seen them in person - they're so cool! They look Seuss-ian to me.

Well, unfortunately the cutter you purchase that's labeled "Turkish tulip" doesn't look anything like the Turkish tulips you find on Turkish materials or patterns, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.  The cutter itself doesn't look any different than the parrot or French tulip, so I'll be looking to see what I can do to make them actually look more Turkish!

@CatherineGeorge your flower looks simply amazing! Wow!

@Marian64 My older brother is like me...all different types of mediums but even I was floored by this one...SO beautiful!

@julia1812 What a pretty feminine little cake! I have one like that coming up...just a little birthday thing for a friend...love the "messy ruffles" idea!

Hope you all have a simply wonderful week!

As usual everyone does such beautiful/cute/funny work here!  No cakes for me this week, just cookies.  A little something for volunteers - the first letter of their names individually packaged.

@Pastrybaglady Those are SO cute! I might pick your brain when we get closer to the end of April. My son has his 14th coming up and it's camo themed...COD technically...so I'm thinking of giving cookies a try. That way if they don't work out it doesn't matter! LOL! But I know absolutely nothing about decorating cookies so I will need help!

@catharper -  There are so many awesomely talented cookie decorators on CC, I am certainly learning as well, but any way I could help, hit me up!

AHello everyone!Long time no cake talk! I went on a "cake hiatus" for a while. I work full time as a graphic designer and do this for fun on the weekends. There has been a large demand from family and friends for cakes recently, which lead me to spreading myself entirely too thin. My weekends were all work and no play, with cake creations out the wazoo! Anyhow, I'm feeling completely rejuvenated! I know this post is late, but it's been a hectic weekend that's carried into the week! :/ This weekend we had a Peppa Pig cake and a Dancing Baby Groot cake, from Guardians of Galaxy. Looks like Peppa was a popular choice for the weekend! ;) Great work as usual, everyone!
