I have not bought her book yet because I would like to know if I could use this recipe for 12x18 sheet cake if I double or triple it. Has anyone made and successful?
Thanks.
I haven't done a 12x18... but I have done a 2" deep 12x12... It worked out fine...
I used bake even strips and upside down flower nails... five of them I think...
I also use it all the time in a 9x13 pan... full 2" deep... bake even strips only... bakes up beautifully every time...
I have had no need to ever put it in the freezer...
but I do know it tastes better a day or two after I bake it...
Also check out this thread... it is also about the cake:

I have never made a 12 by 18 - (it doesn't fit in my oven) but I have made an 11 by 15 many times. Doubling the SF from scratch recipe fills the 9 by 15 pan perfectly. I would triple the recipe for a 12 by 18 and you might have a little left over for a smaller cake or cupcakes. I have frozen this many times and it freezes beautifully. It is a wonderful recipe, and I tried many.
I want to make this for somebody's wedding and it is good to know that taste get better next day or so.
You helped me a lot. Thank you so much.
