ADepending on your icing recipe, you most likely will need to refrigerate these cupcakes. I hope they've been in the fridge for the last 10 hours! I can't tell you whether they will last till your son's birthday. I always bake cupcakes very last minute - the last 24 hours at most as they really go stale quickly. However, I don't know your recipe etc, you'll have to try them for yourself. I know it's not what you want to hear, but if they have a lot of cream in the icing (and it's not a ganache) and you haven't had them in the fridge, I would throw them out and start over. You don't want to make people sick!
