AHello pros! I have been tasked to make a toolbox cake. However, I notice a lot of the tools on cakes I've seen have a shiny silver color. I would like to know how it's done. If there is anyone out there who wouldnt mind assisting me (with details please), I would be grateful. Thanks!!!
I found this out by accident but if you spray silver mist spray on black (or very dark) fondant it makes the fondant look like the silver shiny colour that you are talking about.
You can also buy metallic food paint (rainbow dust brand) or add some vodka to some silver dust to make a paint.
AThank you so much for your response!! Where do I purchase it? Is it something I must order or can I buy at a local store? The cake is due Saturday. Thanks!!
AThanks Bubs!! I think I can purchase the mist at Michael's!
I get mine at Michael's, Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's.
AI used a shimmer spray over grey fondant on my board which was great but when I tried to paint the hammer with lustre dust and vodka, it went a bit streaky
