All of a sudden my vanilla cake recipe is no longer rising and it's not moist. I bought new baking soda and baking powder - other than that it's a very basic recipe - flour butter sugar salt buttermilk, etc.
Any suggestions as to why it wouldn't be rising? My chocolate cakes are doing just fine.
I bet something is off with the new baking soda and powder you bought. Sometimes even if it's fresh on the label it might not agree with your oven. Maybe try a different brand or change the ratio.
