I am making a cake with Bavarian filling and fresh strawberries. I read somewhere you can mix custard with buttercream. My question is do I mix them with an electric mixer or do I just fold them together?
Ive never added buttercream to custard, but adding butter to a custard base is German buttercream. There is a bunch of recipes for it on Google which might give you a starting point.
You mix and add one package of any instant pudding with the icing sugar to your buttercream.
Thank you both for your responds. I mixed my buttercream with my already prepared custard and it turned out great. I don't know if it tastes like Bavarian cream but it sure taste delicious. I did add plain buttercream on the edges just incase it becomes runny.
