Hello all

I'm wondering if anyone has a brilliant idea to help me out with a cakey problem. I have made some fondant-covered Christmas cakes, each weighing about 500g, which are spherical and in the shape of various characters. They're boxed in clear acetate boxes with gold bases (I run a small start-up business from home). I'm trying to figure out how to send these in the post with the least amount of damage occuring - I've tried securing them to the gold base with melted chocolate, but the weight of the cake pulls the dried chocolate straight off with just a small tilt. I'm wondering if I would get a better result with royal icing as glue, or whether edible glue would have any effect, or whether I'm just doomed for making spherical cakes?! Or maybe there's a much better idea out there.

Thanks

Sarah
