A I am making a Care Bear cake & I want to cover the cake in buttercream instead of fondant. I want to make rainbows on the cake similar to the ones that are in the attached photos. What should I use to "glue" the fondant rainbows to the buttercream cake? I usually cover my cakes in fondant so I'm not sure what the best method is. Thanks in advance!

i suppose the buttercream you use will be relevant. I use IMBC. If I were making this cake I would make those rainbows, well in advance, with gumpaste. Wrap it around something and let it fully harden, then place by sticking it into the buttercream, shored up with well placed skewers, if necessary.
