ASo about an hour ago my sister informed me that the cake I thought I was making for my niece next week is needed this Sunday. I have to work tomorrow morning so here I am, a bit tipsy, at midnight baking cakes so I will have time to decorate tomorrow. I told her I would make my niece a simple cake as a gift, but what my sis picked out is not that simple.I guess it's hard for non cakers to realize how much work goes into a cake. I still want to make it to add to my portfolio though. I'm done with my rant now. Lol
fwiw -- i was appropriately frazzled on your behalf yesterday when i read your thread and all i could think of was how lucky you were to have saturday to work on it also --
how'd it go?
ANot bad. The bow could have been better.
AI was happy with the new mmf recipe I tried for the red using candy melts. It worked much better than the first time I made red mmf with gel colors.
you did great especially on such a short time frame -- cute cake
Cute cake!! I haven't tried the candy melt fondant yet- will have to give it a whirl.
ATy, I found the recipe on here. The first time I made red I had to use the whole jar of color. I will be using this method for all my dark colors from now on.
Oh wow, just seen this. It's beautiful. I bet she loved it, lucky girl :)
AOne lucky niece and one...exhausted (?) baking aunt, lol. Well done, nice cake!
