Hi All,

I want to make chocolate cupcakes today and thought I had everything, but my sour cream, well, um, it was a little older than I realized. Will subbing yogurt change the flavor significantly?

Thank you!

yes, i would drain it of the water -- rest it in a strainer or in some cheesecloth so the water can leak out

Thanks K8memphis.  I gave up and ran to the store, so I will file that away for another time.

sour cream is better ;) good move --

but i cannot believe the zillion different kinds of sour cream -- i usually buy store brand 'all natural' sc because it only has three ingredients (for my home use i mean) -- it's very confusing out there

Yes, it can be very confusing! I am glad I ran out.  The cupcakes just came out and I taste tested (for Quality control you know), and OMG  they are so good!  Wah!  It makes me miss my business! This is the first cake I've made since July!
