AHey my fellow cakers

I was wondering if I could use hot chocolate powder instead of cocoa powder in my cupcakes/cakes? Has anybody tried it? Is the recipe different??

AI've seen a few "hot cocoa" cake recipes calling for hot cocoa. One off the top of my head is KAF's milk chocolate cake (just made it this week) has an option to use hot cocoa mix..I have not used that option though. As for adding hot cocoa mix to an existing recipe that does not call for it, you'd just have to be aware if the mix contains sugar vs artificial sweetener and milk powder, and adjust for it. The addition of milk powder to the recipe might be negligible,... the additional sugar would certainly need to be compensated for.
