AA family that I've met through making cakes was recently involved in a tragic accident. They are having a memorial balloon release at a park. Is it appropriate if I make cupcakes or even large sheet cakes(I would provide plates etc) and take for everyone to have. If your answer is yes, should they be plain or is a simple decoration in the theme(matching the balloons) acceptable? Thank you!

i would ask them -- and eating cake on a plate might be awkward unless there was other food being served -- sometimes there are meals planned after services such as this -- maybe a better place for that --

best to you -- so sorry for their loss
