Hi all, I am making an Alice in Wonderland cake and it's going to have a hill with a tree on it and a mad hatters table down below, with various other things going on. I will have a stone path going around the table too. I wanted to know how I can get an affect going with different shades of greens and yellows? I don't have an airbrush machine. Could I dab gel on with a sponge? Or am I better just piping the whole lot with various shades of buttercream?

Here's a sneak peak of what I have created so far :)

TIA you lovely people! :)

AI would use fondant and a wood/ stone impression mat. By far easier than piping it, especially the stone path. Tint the fondant in the lightest color it should be and hand paint the rest, maybe with a combination of brush and sponge...

AYes, load up a sponge with different colours and dab away at the fondant. Easy peasy!

Thank you lovelies! I have a stone impression mat I've done the path, so it's just the ground I wasn't sure on. I will have a go with painting and sponging. Thanks again!! :)
