I have a customer that really doesnt like buttercream icing because of the sweetness factor and high sugar content. She has asked me to use wiltons whipped icing on the cake with edible images. Im a bit concerned that the pictures may run ....im just wondering if anyone has used this and had no troubles or any ideas for keeping the images from running. I will be waiting to put the images on till about 4 hours prior to serving the cake. If anyone has a not so sweet icing recipe too that would work.

AI haven't tried any Wilton recipes, so I don't know about the whipped icing. You can try meringue based buttercream, it is less sweet. Or you can stick the image on to fondant then on to your cake so it won't bleed.
