ASorry to bother you all, but i find myself in a muddle due to my own bad time management. Ive got 6/9 small cakes to cover with fondant for tomorrow morming and im at a loss what to use.
All the shops are shut, i dont have time to make ganache and i would rather not make buttercreAmand theres no jam either!
Would just plain old butter work? Or can the fondant just stick without edible glue?
Please help!
AI need to know ASAP as its nearly 9.30 PM here (ive left it embarressingly left i know)
Really sorry no one could help you in a timely manor :(
For future knowledge you could try using any thick syrup - like Karo or even maple syrup applied very thinly.
Maybe even make a thick sugar water mixture.
AIf butter is an option, than ketchup is as well. It will work but would you wish to eat it?
ASorry for being late in getting back to everyone!
No it wasnt for an order (i wish i was paid to make cake), but it was for a picnic we were having the next day for someones birthday.
I ended up making butter....glue. It was supposed to be buttercream but i put too much milk innit and i ran out of icing sugar. it did the trick tho. I wanted to make them look like the japanese rice cakes called onigiri. I seem to have done okay!

Shame they got partly ruined by an over eager dog spilling cola all over them while to eat them at our picnic. :c
