AI made a sugarveil lace and I know you can attach it to the cake with a little water. But I was wondering, how would I attach a fondant brooch I made on top of the sugarveil once I got it on the cake? Do I just use water as well for the brooch, or can I use RI? I didn't know if it would make the sugarveil melt?

Thanks!

Cupcake you'll need to use whatever would allow your fondant brooch to be supported by the cake (my guess would be a not-too-moist royal icing). Since SugarVeil is pretty delicate, the brooch would need to be pretty small and light weight for SugarVeil to be the support (if I'm understanding your post correctly). Gum glue, royal icing, as well as a tiny bit of moisture under the brooch would all stick to SugarVeil - just use a minimum of moisture in whatever you choose to use.

AThank you for your help! Here is a pic of the cake. I had fun doing this cake. This was my first time to do sugarveil lace and also first to make the brooches :) [/IMG]
