AHi

I froze 2 12x2 inch square cakes. I wrapped them in lots of cling film and then foil. Whats the best way to thaw them and does anyone know roughly how long this should take?

I need to buttercream them and cover in sugarpaste.

I'm in the uk and it's quite warn here at the moment if that makes a difference?

Thanks

Thaw them still wrapped up at room temperature. You could actually put the buttercream on while they are still a bit cold, it might be easier for you in the warm weather. I would also chill again briefly before covering with sugarpaste so your cake is nice and firm, but I personally never cover if they are cold to the core since it always results in huge bubbles/blowouts in the sugarpaste for me.

AThank you. I have left them on the side still wrapped and will frost them in the morning. I'm guessing they should have thawed completely by then. Thanks Vicky
