AI'm new to baking and I'd like to know, what are the best tips to ice as smooth as possible. I've done cakes covered in fondant and they don't come out bumpy usually but it takes me forever to ice because I'm a perfectionist and I'd like to know what tools are best to use and maybe certain techniques. TIA :)

ALots of practice, and a good bench scraper. I use smbc or ganache, and those are definitely easy to get perfectly smooth with not much effort. Look up Sugared Productions, and her dvd Perfecting the Art of Buttercream.
