Hi, I want to stretch myself and try some new sugar flowers for my up-coming birthday cake.  I know I want to try David Austin roses, but what other flowers would look natural in an arrangement with them?  I'm out of inspiration and open to suggestion :-)

Many thanks.

AIn my opinion, David Austin roses stand on their own. I would just add some small filler flowers. Best wishes and happy birthday!

Thanks, Krypto.  I was hoping to make a couple of natural looking sprays to place on the cake, with a mixture of different flowers.  Maybe DA roses are too much for that sort of arrangement?

Looking through your first link, I really like this arrangement:

But putting the DA roses instead of the normal roses.  What do you think?  It'd need to be a bit smaller to fit round the cake.
