can you use buttercream icing made with shortening as a center on fondant daisies?

sure you can-- you can make whole daisies out of it too

have tried the buttercream daisies but they break apart after drying plus don't look good at all!! that is why i'm trying fondant but already have icing colored for centers. thank you for answer.
