Hello all, I recently moved and in the process all my gel food colours were chucked in the bin. I had Wilton colouring because that was what I was able to get at the time, however since I will most likely be ordering my new colours from Amazon I was wondering if you could tell me what the best dye is. I mostly work with buttercreams, but I'm beginning to start working with fondant more and the Wilton always made my fondant streaky after a day or so. All and any help is greatly appreciated.

AI have a set of Americolor soft gels from amazon. They seem to color the same as Wilton's, but the darker colors don't seem to be as bitter. Especially their reds. Wilton's reds can ruin some buttercream, in my humble opinion.
Wilton has a great non-taste red that I purchase. But I don't understand the posters comment about Wilton colors making her fondant streaky after a couple days. Try this. Add the color to a small ball of fondant then when it's blended in, add the colored ball to your fondant. I wish SugarFlair was available over here - I'd buy all their colors. Just ordered a dark purple from the UK and it's so wonderful - a lot more solid than American pastes. CK is good and so isn't Americolor.
AThank you everyone for your replies. Guess it's time to start rebuilding my colour collection. I know hobby lobby carries the americolor, unfortunately there isn't really one of those near where I live anymore. Does anyone know any other places that carry it or would amazon be my best bet?
