AHi I'm making my first 2 tier birthday cake for my sister in law and I was wondering if anybody would be nice enough to give me a nice chocolate recipe for my bottom cake (9 inch circle tin). It has to be sturdy enough to hold the top cake. Thanks x

Also the bottom cake does NOT hold up the upper tier. That's what your support system does.
AThanks for your replies. Iv got my dowels and cake board today for my upper cake.. The recipe I usually use is very moist and I'm worried it would be abit soft for the dowels and maybe not support them straight.. Think I'm going to do a Madeira on bottom with buttercream as Iv seen this May be best x
