AHi everyone. I was asked to make a wedding beach themed cake. Bride asked for sea horse cake toppers but I have researched forever and cant find one that will work. All molds I have found I believe are too small. Anyone know where I can find a big seahorse mold? The cake will be a three tier cake..10, 8, 6.

AHow big do you want it? Globalsugarart has one that's almost 3" tall. Maybe you can make a couple of those for the topper.

AI was thinking maybe 4 or 5" tall. Bride wants it to stand out. She also wants two to be facing each other so I would need a 3D mold?

AI was searching for the same thing because I wanted them facing as well. I gave up and I ended up purchasing an ornament and making my own mold! Worked perfectly.

I found this which you could use on the cake and then also use the sea horses separately and probably put them back to back to make them 3D.

Hope that helps!

I would go to your local pet and fish store, look at all the items they have for aquariums, purchase a seahorse the size needed (hopefully it's plastic and realistic looking), then go to Michaels, Hobby Lobby or AC Moore's and get a couple packages of Magic Mold (purple and yellow box) to make the back and front of the seahorse mold.  Only takes 30 minutes (shopping for all the items takes a lot longer).  Say's on the box that it's food safe.  Fill with gumpaste or white chocolate and color.  Insert long skewers before they dry/harden to insert into the cake.

I just bought these from ebay. Not received them yet so I'm not sure how good they will be but loved the look of them.
