ADoes anyone have any tips for decorating cakes with fruit? I've noticed some seem to have a glaze on the fruit, is that better or necessary?

It makes fruit look really nice and glossy it also helps to seal it and to keep it from drying out. I use heated and strained apricot jam on mine.
