pretty much any cookie recipe will do--i've made tons of different flavors--all the classics at least--what i do is scrunch it up around the edge so there's about an inch of space between the cookie dough and the rim of the pan so it has a place to expand and bake more flat all the way across--but i just use whatever cake pan size i want--and i once did a 16" snickerdoodle--instead of a parchment circle i baked that one on a cardboard circle so i could ensure i could get it out of the pan at the end--i think baking rings work better than pans but cake pans work too

but i like the dough to be about 3/8" deep or so give or take-

they're fun to do--best cookie baking to you

Cookie cakes can be made with almost any cookie recipe. Toll House cookies are great as a cake or pizza. If you have a favorite recipe, I suggest you start there. Using your own will help you know when it's done baking. Measure (or weigh) a large amount of dough and place on a large cookie sheet or in a cake pan. Press down so the dough is an even thickness. Bake at 350 or 325 degrees F. I usually bake until a light golden brown.

AOh awesome!! Thank you both!! I didn't know if it needed to be different than a cookie recipe. I have a few favorites I would love to try out.
