APosted this on "cake decorating" with no luck. I have a customer who wants me to copy the design in this photo into an anniversary cake. What do I use to get the gold color and would I be able to do BC icing or fondant? Other ideas??

You can buy edible gold paint or mix gold lustre dust with vodka to make paint to colour this. I would probably do it with fondant or royal icing then paint when set.

Forgot to say the edible paint i use is made by rainbow dust, they have also just released gold twist and click edible paint brushes but I think maybe the nib might be to thick for the design. hope this helps

Sugarflair make an edible gold sparkle paint and they have a great range of lustre dusts you can mix with alcohol. You can also make a gold piping icing with piping gel, icing sugar and lustre dust.
