Hi all, im looking for a new chocolate mud cake or white mud cake recipe to try.

Would anyone recommend me any good ones? Or where to look or what book recipes to try out?

I need more practice in baking mud cakes and trying new recipies

AI've been investigating mudcakes recently, never made one but want to try. Type mudcake recipe into the CC search bar, loads of old threads about it. I've saved Applegumpams recipe, that's the one I'm going to try. :-)

All variants of Mud Cake (by Le torte di Toni)


 Dark Chocolate Mud Cake:


250 g Butter (unsalted), chopped

400 g Sugar

250 ml Milk 

150 g Dark chocolate, chopped

100 g Flour "00" (superfine flour)

100 g Self-raising flour

100 g Unsweetened cocoa powder

3 Eggs (or 2 big)


Preheat oven to 160°C.

In a pan you put the milk, the butter and the chocolate and melt all on a flame sweet (do not allow it to boil). Now you add the sugar and blend until the mixture prove to be smooth. Cool down the mixture for 10 minutes in the planetary with soft speed. Sift the flours and the cocoa powder. Now you add gradually the flours and the cocoa in the mixture. Finally you add the eggs one by one. You wait for that the egg is perfectly mix before add another egg. Oven-bake at 160 °C for 80 minutes about. Test with skewer.          





Caramel Mud Cake:

(the same method of Dark Chocolate Mud Cake )


150 g White chocolate, chopped

350 g Brown sugar

250 g Butter (unsalted), chopped

250 ml Milk

150 g Flour "00" (superfine flour)

150 g Self-raising flour

3 (or 2 big) Eggs 





White Chocolate Mud Cake:

(the same method of Dark Chocolate Mud Cake) 


250 g Butter (unsalted), chopped

250 g White chocolate, chopped

200 ml Water

300 g Sugar

1 cup (120 g) Self-raising flour

1 3/4 cup (210 g) Flour "00" (superfine flour)

3 Eggs (or 2 big)





Mocha Mud Cake:

(the same method of Dark Chocolate Mud Cake)


330 g Butter (unsalted), chopped

200 g Dark chocolate, chopped

580 g Sugar

340 ml Water

120 ml Coffee liquor

4 tablespoons Instant coffee powder

300 g Flour "00" (superfine flour)

4 tablespoons Self-raising flour

4 tablespoons Unsweetened cocoa powder

2 Eggs


Oven-bake to 170°C for 80 minutes about. Test with skewer.




Coconut Mud Cake:


220 g Butter (unsalted), chopped

325 g Brown sugar

3 (or 2 big) Eggs

1 teaspoon Vanilla

130 g Dried coconut 

360 g Self-raising flour

360 ml Milk  



Preheat oven to 160°C.

You whip the butter with the brown sugar. You add the eggs one by one, dried coconut and the milk. You sift the self-raising flour and you add gradually it. Oven-bake at 160°C for 80 minutes about. Test with skewer.
