AI recently made a mickey mouse tiered cake for a 1st birthday and I have another one at the end of the week I did the top tier of the head and used skewers to attatch 2 found ears however the ears had crack down from where the skewer was inserted . Anyone know a better way to attach them to the cake to avoid cracking? I basically cut out 4 rounds 2 for each ear and sandwiched the skewer between the 2 rounds and left to dry. It worked apart from the cracking where the skewer was . Help

AI have done Mini Mouse for my granddaughter and Mickey Mouse for my grandson. What I did was just cut a really thick piece of gumpaste and stuck several tooth picks in it to use to attach later. I think they took about a week to dry though....
