ANot sure what you are using it for but I have seen cakes at shows where caulking was used.

AThe easiest thing to work with (when covering a dummy)is crisco, powdered sugar, and enough water to get it to the desired consistency. It will hold up for a really long time and it's cheap.

How about using Hydrocal? It's been the gold standard for model railroad scenery for decades. Don't need 50 pounds of it? A well-stocked model train shop should carry it repackaged in smaller amounts.

APerma-ice is artificial icing, or you can use synthetic spackle.
