This is a really basic question. I am making a simple carrot cake with BC filling and topping. Every picture/tutorial I look at has a fully covered cake. I guess I don't want super smooth BC like I would do under fondant.
So, would you pipe the BC on top or just spread? My spreading always looks terrible and my piping is not much better. Is there an easy technique?
you could use an icing comb or just draw your offset spatula from the center to the edge while turning your cake on a turntable for a nice swirl, or fan out from the center.
