AI can't seem to keep my cakes from crumbling and falling apart when I cut them, help!!!
Some cakes are crumbly. How's the texture? Is it moist or dry? Can you post the recipe?
AAnniecahill, Its super moist, everyone loves my cakes, I just look unprofessional with a ratty crumbling mess! I have ocd so these things just bug the mess out of me!!!
Reverse cream your recipe. It seems to produce a tighter crumb. Cream your butter with your flour and a small amount of the wet ingredients first, then add the rest. Look up reverse creaming and give that a try. Most recipes can be modified for this method.
AYou might try freezing it for about an hour or so. You want it firm, but not frozen, makes it easier to cut.
