AI am not sure if this would taste good, or if the different chocolates would not work well together. The chocolate fondant tastes very much like tootsie roll. So, I am looking for other opinions. What do you think? Chocolate fondant on chocolate cake (with chocolate buttercream, too!) or not?

I'm not a fan of the chocolate fondant, like you said it tastes like tootsie roll. From experience, I learned that most people if not all, remove the fondant from the cake before eating. In that case, it wouldn't really matter which flavour you put. But I would go with white fondant that tastes like marshmellows.
Yes go ahead and make it. The first wedding cake that I ever made was exactly like that. It was what they wanted.
Can't see why not. All the chocolates should just meld together.
