AYes you read that right!! My husbands grandmother (she passed away many years ago) use to make a yellow cake with a chocolate water glaze. The glaze ingredients use (or this is what we think she use to do).. Cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and water. Apparently it's thin and after you glaze the cake it will eventually harden.

So now I ask you....does anyone happen to have a recipe that sounds like this???

Hi, this sounds a little bit like a glaze we prepare for lamingtons.  Not sure if this is it or if it helps, but the recipe is:

3 1/2 cups icing sugar mixture

  • print_box.png1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • print_box.png1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • print_box.png1/2 cup boiling water

Sift icing sugar and cocoa into a bowl. Add butter and boiling water. Stir until smooth.

(apologies for the formatting)
