I want to make a cake for my mother-in-law's birthday this weekend. I have a day off today (snow) and I figured I could get a jump on it by making the buttercream roses. I found threads on freezing them so I know it can be done but some say put them in tupperware containers. So my question is this- do I just put them in frozen or should I layer them nicely? Will they break if I don't layer them? Thanks for any suggestions you can give me.
AFreeze them first, on a cookie sheet or other flat surface. then you can layer them in a container with parchment between the layers.
It isn't necessary to freeze or put in an airtight container, you want them to air dry so you can pick them up easily to place them.
They'll remain soft enough to cut even after air drying for weeks.
AThanks for the ruffle tutorial!
