Can You Attach Candy Shapes To Royal Icing On Cookie?

AHI I have made some candy melt lego men and just wondered if it is possible to attach these to cookies flooded with royal icing or will the icing be adversely effected? It is for a cookie bouquet and it could be hot here just to make it even more tricky :cry:

I have attached candies before.  You can either flood your cookie, then drop the shape in the wet icing, OR allow the icing to dry, then attach shape with a dot of candy melt.

Yes - I agree with lcubed83. I have done both and nothing has happened to the icing!
