I live in the UK, and this morning where we are, it was pi**ing down like you only ever see in films. You know, the kind of rain that looks like one massive sheet of water.

I was walking back from dropping my youngest off to school with no umbrella and no hood on my coat - yep, I was that stupid/late when I left the house - when this man in around his 60's stopped me and asked where I was parked. slightly confused, I pointed out my car, about a 1/4 mile away, and he turned around to start walking back with me to the car, sheltering me with his umbrella. I could have hugged him :)

As it was, I was already soaked through so I thanked him very much but said he shouldn't go out of his way as I was already a lost cause.

How lovely was that though? He really lifted my spirits, and it wasn't even 9am :)
