I always use americolor gels, i bought a new set a week ago and used 6 colours for different coloured frosting. They made the frosting bitter! pale colour and almost a grainy appearance! i didn't even use that much! i had to make do with the shockingly pale colours but he taste was terrible! is it possible i got a bad batch of colours?? or am i doing something wrong :?

Are you positive that they're the "soft gel paste" colors and not "amerimist" [airbrush food colors] or oil based candy colors?  Please re-read the labels and let us know.

AOk so this made sense so I checked and they are the regular soft gel colours. I dont think I had enough iceing sugar in my buttercream, if there was to much butter could thst made it go funny??
