I have a friend who wants a coffee flavoured cake and I was wondering what were some good recipes some people have used (and would like to share). TIA!
Do you want a "coffee cake" like with a brown sugar crumble on top, or a "cake" cake, flavored with coffee? If it is the latter, I would just add coffee extract to a vanilla cake recipe. Flavor your buttercream with it as well.

AHere's a good coffee cake with the crumble on top: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/cinnamon-streusel-buttermilk-coffee-cake-10000000523692/
Try fromscratchsf's "A Better White Cake" recipe, and add in the coffee extract. I'm sure it will be delish! And some IMBC with coffee extract. :)

Instant espresso powder dissolved in a tiny bit of hot water works great as well. I usually do 2-3 tablespoons powder in a bout 1 teaspoon of boiling water.
Found this old 19th century New England coffee cake recipe. Scroll down a bit. Might be interesting to try! Recipe here
Just made a brownie espresso delight for a dinner party with the girls and it was a HUGE success. Absolutely delicious. I found the recipe here on Daily Cuppa Coffee, where you'll also find a whole range of cake, cookie and pastry recipes to choose from. I've also tried their coffee brownie cake that I also loved very much so you could try that as well. :)
