Candy Glass

Hi everyone! I have a winter theme cake coming up, and I really wanted to do some blue candy glass to look like shards of ice. I've found a pretty universal recipe for candy glass with corn syrup, water, sugar, and cream of tartar. However, from what I've read, it doesn't keep well. After time it gets goopy and messy, especially if kept in the fridge. And it's a time consuming recipe (you have to cook it for an hour minimum!) and then you have to wait for it to set up! So I don't want to wait the day of to make it, I want to make it ahead of time. Any suggestions? Is there another recipe out there that I can make in advance? Any tips, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :D

AYou can spray it with confectioners glaze; it makes it slightly misty but it lasts weeks like that :)

What is confectioners glaze? And do you mean spray the cake? Or the candy glass?

ASearch EBay for "clear pme edible spray" and spray the sugar work before applying it to the cake, you can attach it with thick royal icing.
