AHello. I want to make salted dulce de leche. How much salt should I add to 1 cup of already made dulce de leche? Any kind of salt in particular? Thanks! It means a lot to me.
i don't know--but i make salted peanut butter fudge, caramels & chocolates--i might put a dash of salt in the mixture but i definitely sprinkle it on top as soon as i pour it into the container whilte it's still hot and it will adhere--so the first thing on the tongue will be a taste of salt--just a nice sprinkling onto the surface is what it do--so each bite gets a bit--i use kosher salt so it's a larger flake and i end up using a tad more than i'd put on my fries--
hopefully a dulce de leche expert will chime in soon but in the meantime that's what i do
