I am a beginner as compared with other cake makers, I know they are embarrassing, but believe it they are delicious!  I just wonder if the moderators will try some day delete simple cakes like mine that lack any decorations and colors? I am trying to add that beautifying stage to my cakes in near future and hope it turns out well.

Thanks for the great ideas!

ASo, are you suggesting that the moderators remove all of the photos people have loaded, that aren't of a certain standard? That aren't heavily and or nicely decorated?

AIf your embarrassed of a cake, don't add it. It's not like this is your portfolio, right?!

I think it's important to re-evaluate your work every so often, especially if you want to get better. If you can't see where your flaws are you won't be able to improve. It's pretty neat to look back at how far you've come.

AIt all depends on your goal in posting pictures: Are you proud of an achievement? Are you asking for feedback on how to improve the next iteration of a given cake? Are you reporting back on the results of something on which you asked for help? More than one of the above? (Usually the case with me, and once in a while, all three!)

For my own part, I've never cared for the gallery feature here, and so I just put the pictures on either my Flickr account, or the web space my ISP provides. But I can't imagine administrators going through and arbitrarily deleting gallery pictures unless they violate some standard of decency for posting outside the "naughty cakes" restricted zone.

Hello - unless your photograph of your cake(s) contravene the rules of photo posting here on Cake Central, you definitely will not have your cake photos removed.

Check these out for more info:

Also, it is a good to be aware that when you post something on the interwebs, there is always going to be a record of it *somewhere* even if you later delete it.

Dear moderator,

Hello, and thank you for your reply. I am a new member and having read all the posts you kindly put down here, I just found out that my cakes would be considered as contravening the rules, to my own surprise!

I have decided to put a cake picture of mine for the monthly celebration of my 2 month and two week son. For his second, I have put him beside the cake and have shot them together, without knowing that face display is not allowed here. Should I remove it now or not ?

Though my cakes are simple, I am on my way to learn different recipes. So I will come up with newer ideas and cakes.

Thanks for everyone`s help.
