AAnyone have a recipe for enough royal icing to decorate about 70 doz cookies? I was also considering getting a 50 lb bag of sugar and making the whole thing into icing. I'm not sure how much meringue powder to use. Or where to get it. Ideas?

you can make royal with egg whites too--'joy of baking' website shows both meringue and egg white recipes--

i'd just be prepared to make several batches--i mean how big is your mixing bowl? and how much icing do you need for each cookie?

so just be prepared to make several batches as you go along--you'll be able to make a good judgement call as you go along--

maybe start with a double batch and gauge it from there

and you can get meringue powder from hobby lobby, michael's your local cake deco store, walmart even probably and that restaurant depot store if you have a membership there--it's a common product to find
